This is a reverse rotation waterpump!! If your water pump has a smooth pulley this is the correct replacement. If your pulley has ribs this is not the right one. Reverse rotation means it turns in the opposite direction of the cranks rotation. So if your crank is rotating clockwise this pump needs to rotate counterclockwise. If you install the belt incorrectly it will draw water from the upper radiator hose and pump down through block into lower radiator hose. This will cause overheating due to the air in the top hose and prevent circulation of coolant.The correct way of pumping is drawing from lower radiator hose and pumping out of top of engine back into the top hose of radiator. This is how all water pumps function.Warning perform only with cool engine....To check if you have it pumping correctly simply loosen and remove the top hose at motor or radiator and start engine...if coolant shoots out of top of the engine or upper hose then you have it correctly installed. Rinse off and blow dry to prevent engine skipping and steaming. If it isn't flowing water out of top hose then you may have the rotation wrong or not enough coolant in the radiator for the pump to pickup. Check level and try again a no flow would mean wrong rotation.By the way this pumps more coolant than a typical waterpump, this is a performance version. Hence the P in the part number.
